Our Story

The history of Steveston Veterinary Hospital, founded in 1974, is rooted in a deep passion for animals and a love of science. It was exactly this that drove Dr. Robert Galloway into a career in veterinary medicine and inspired him to take over Steveston Veterinary Hospital in 1978.  Dr. Galloway has a special interest in surgery and gained extensive experience in orthopedic and general surgery cases throughout his 40 + year career. As a result Steveston Veterinary Hospital has been renowned for its depth of knowledge in surgical cases and have had clients referred to them from across the country.

Dr. Galloway’s passion for animal wellness and science has been passed onto his daughter Dr. Breanne Galloway who grew up learning the intricacies of animal care throughout her life. After graduating from Veterinary School in Dublin, Dr. Breanne Galloway followed in her father’s footsteps to recently become the owner at Steveston Veterinary Hospital.  She brings the same passion, depth of knowledge and care as she works with clients and their pets throughout their lifespan.

With new modern facilities and an experienced staff, the Galloways, along with highly experienced veterinarians Dr. Teresa Millar and Dr. Margaret Fisher, are thrilled to be able to provide professional, quality care to those throughout Greater Vancouver.

Steveston Veterinary Hospital relocated in 2015 from its original location and is now conveniently located in Richmond, BC on the corner of Francis Road and Gilbert Road.
