End-of-Life Care
What is end-of-life care for pets?
End-of-life care focuses on supporting pets and their families during aging, advanced illness, or declining quality of life. This includes comfort care, quality-of-life discussions, and guidance in making compassionate decisions.
How do I know when it’s time to consider euthanasia?
It can be difficult to know when a pet is no longer comfortable. We offer quality-of-life assessments where a veterinarian evaluates pain levels, mobility, appetite, hydration, behavior changes, and overall enjoyment of daily activities. These conversations help you make informed, supported decisions.
What is palliative or comfort care?
Palliative care helps manage symptoms to keep pets comfortable when they aren’t ready for euthanasia. This can include pain medication, nutritional support, mobility aids, and home-care guidance.
What can I expect during a humane euthanasia appointment?
We provide a calm, quiet environment where the process is explained beforehand. You are welcome to stay with your pet for as much of the visit as you feel comfortable. Our team focuses on ensuring a peaceful, gentle goodbye.
What are my aftercare options?
We can arrange individual or communal cremation, ash return options, pawprints, fur keepsakes, and memorial items. If you have personal or cultural preferences, we will do our best to support them.
Do you offer grief support resources?
Yes—our team can provide pet loss support resources, including phone hotlines, online groups, and recommended reading to help you navigate the grieving process.
