About Us
Steveston Veterinary Hospital is seeking a registered Veterinary Technician to join our fast paced, 3.5 doctor clinic.
SVH has been family run for over 40 years and believes in providing high-quality medical care for our patients while also serving our clients with 5 star customer service.
This position is for Fridays only, so would be perfect for someone looking for part-time work or a secondary job.
The Job Details
Includes, but not limited to:
Radiology - Setting up and taking radiographs
Setting up and monitoring surgeries · Maintaining Logs
Hospitalized patient care
Dentistry
Surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and patient recovery
Taking initial TPR and medical history of patients for appointments
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Has a valid Registered Veterinary Technician Diploma
A dedicated, hard-working individual with an optimistic, can-do attitude
Extremely empathetic and patient with pets and owners
Responsible and reliable team-player
Strong customer service and care
A desire to improve their current skills as well as learn new ones
Must have experience working in the veterinary industry or equivalent related experience, and completion of the RVT program is required.

Job
Join our experienced team of talented veterinarians and technicians! Our Veterinary and animal health technologists and technicians perform some or all of the following duties:
Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
Handle, restrain, and attend to animals undergoing treatment and surgery
Conduct radiographs, sample collection, and other laboratory tests to aid in diagnosing animal health issues
Assist veterinarians before, during, and after surgeries
Prepare surgical equipment, administer and monitor anesthesia, and assist in post-surgical cleanup
Administer medications and vaccines as directed by veterinarians
Perform wound care and bandaging
Execute specialized procedures such as animal identification and hoof trimming
Educate clients on animal health, including nutrition and at-home care
Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with dental care
Assist with office administration tasks

Salary: $27.00-$35.00 per hour
